Safety & Security Connectors | Ascend Cares Charity Committee

During the COVID lockdown, a group of volunteers came together, the Safety & Security Connectors to develop an employee communication newsletter, “Safety & Security Connections.” Our mission was to boost morale and help our “employee family” stay connected. Interactive PDFs employed upbeat colors and pleasing designs to introduce new employees, showcase hundreds of employee achievements, family traditions, graduations, new pets, secret recipes, fundraising events, and much more while linking to fun and entertaining videos, inspiring websites, and educational opportunities. Special editions used thematic design approaches to highlight the Olympics, back to school, and Halloween costumes.

A huge success was our EMRACE THE REMIX issue! An issue where our community joyfully shared and celebrated their generational memories.

The highly anticipated newsletters produced high click rates and positive comments, contributing to the company's low attrition rate.

As a Connectors volunteer and a dedicated member of our corporate charity committee, Ascend Cares, for over 10 years, I actively represented and upheld our company’s core values and ethics. As the primary designer, I created event announcements, invitations, and communications contributing to record-breaking charitable contributions. I also fostered employee participation in fundraising efforts, supporting numerous philanthropic organizations, social causes, and community service events.
